Don Quixote (El Ingeniojo Hidalgo Don Quixote De La Mancha) (1605 1615) was written by Miguel de Cervantes (15471616). It is the story of Don Quixote, an elderly knight whose grasp on reality has been loosened by age and the reading of a few too many romance novels. Originally meant to satirize the popular romances of the time, it has become one of the classics of Western literature.
